Rooney Sees His Future In World Cup Advert

The world's top footballers have been given the chance to see their future in Nike's new World Cup advert.

It shows the fame or failure they may achieve during a fictional football tournament.

The three-minute Write The Future film will make its debut in 32 countries during live coverage of the Champions League final on Saturday, including on Sky Sports HD1 .

It features Wayne Rooney , Cristiano Ronaldo , Didier Drogba and even Homer Simpson.

The England star is shown falling on hard times and living in a caravan after clashing with France's Franck Ribery .

The commercial, filmed by Alejandro G Inarritu, marks the start of Nike's global marketing campaign ahead of the World Cup in South Africa next month.

Davide Grasso, vice president of global football marketing at Nike , said: "This epic campaign really captures the scale, emotion and impact that one single moment in a football game can have on a player, fan or nation."

Ronaldo commented on the advert: "Every touch you have in a game has the ability to change the entire course of not just those 90 minutes but your entire tournament or season."

He added: "One touch of the ball can be an opportunity to leave your mark on the game and write your own future, or equally a moment missed, that creates a legacy for your opponent with their fans."
